The Canning Leisureplex comprises of a dedicated library, café, large sports hall, exercise gymnasium, two main indoor pools, outdoor water play area, crèche in addition to conference and catering facilities, all of which are housed in a modern architecturally appealing structure.

The design incorporated many standard and non-standard elements associated with a building of this type, an example of this was the heating of the pools which is achieved via geothermal bores and supplemented through the heat generated from the buildings air conditioning system. Shading and natural ventilation are controlled independently of the building management system which controls the requirements of the different facets of the building.
